Profuse sweats.
Every symptom announced death.
Course of vital air.
Respirated with delight.
Eagerness of an infant at breast.
Felt a comfortable heat.
Distributed through all his limbs.
Strength increased with greatest rapidity.
In 6 weeks able to take long walks.
Health lasted for 6 months.
Relapsed after this interval.
Reuse of vital air not possible.
Oxygen technician left Paris.
Patient died.

Quoting Chaptal (French physician):
I am far from believing respiration of vital air ought to be considered as a specific.
But it inspires cheerfulness.
In desperate cases a most precious remedy.
Spread flowers on borders of tomb.
Prepare us in gentlest manner,
for last dreadful effort of nature.
