1908 oxygen administered intra-abdominally
Dr. Bainbridge's main emphasis is his work on abdominal administration of oxygen.
Probably did help in selected cases.
In first 2 decades of 20th century numerous papers about intra-abdominal, intravenous, rectal & subcutaneous administration of oxygen.

CASE VIII:
M.G. @ 49 single.
Cystic ovaries & fibroid tumor of uterus.
Chronic appendicitis & large cystic left kidney.
Operation New York Skin & Cancer Hospital.
December 7, 1907.
Abdominal incision.
Diseased kidney removed,
Appendix removed.
Ovaries removed.
Tubes removed.
Uterus removed.
Cyanosis marked.
Shock very great.
Particularly at time of removal uterus.
Oxygen administered intra-abdominally.
Patient's condition greatly improved.
Pulse became stronger.
Blood brighter & more scarlet.
Cyanosis disappeared.
General condition patient improved.
Recovery uneventful.
